First developed in 2006, the certificate is valid for level 3 (A-level/post-school/post-College). It was revised in 2012 to reflect the changing profile of the global transport and logistics sector.

The course is designed to support professionals who are entering or are already in leadership or team roles but require training and development.
Most of the options for obtaining this qualification are part-time due to the nature of the course, as students in most cases already work. As a supervisor, students must complete the program within 12-18 months, although students can qualify within a year depending on how they teach the course.
The course consists of 3 parts, two mandatory and one to choose from.
There are 240 hours of training, which includes classroom and self-study hours. This is distributed as 80 hours for each part of the course.
The cost is specified on the spot.

The assessment is conducted by means of an exam for the international program, and individual parts can be selected as a separate course.
